This talk focuses on how to gather information from parents, children and teenagers when assessing for school reading, IQ/learning strengths & areas for development, as well as Career and Subject Choice Counselling in High School and Career Counselling in Adults
The talk looks at:

  • How to ask questions diplomatically
  • Building Rapport with the parent, child or adolescent
  • The Importance of good questionnaires and interviews
  • Gathering extra information in an interview based on answers filled in on a questionnaire
  • Looking for consistencies, inconsistencies and patterns in the answers given

  • An understanding of what questions to ask when conducting a school readiness, IQ, learning problem or career related assessment and why
  • An understanding of the importance of building rapport and being discreet and diplomatic
  • Insight into how to find patterns and more meaning from the information gathered
