This workshop will take a closer look at career counselling in practice. The JvR career process will be used as the foundation to discuss a variety of narrative techniques together with psychometric assessments, thus a combined qualitative and quantitative approach. There will be some time spent on the new regulatory changes regarding career development practitioners and what this mean for South Africa in general. There will also be a discussion of a few career counselling case studies.
This workshop was designed to provide insight into the dynamic world of work that we are faced with today and how to adjust career counselling to suit these needs. It aims to provide practitioners some more insight into a comprehensive career counselling approach as well as different psychometric assessments and narrative techniques they may want to include in their career counselling practice. The workshop aims to help counsellors address different issues that they may be faced with when providing career guidance. Practical tips for career counselling will be provided.
