Overview

Emotional resilience refers to an individual’s ability to adapt to stressful situations or crises. It is being able to steer through life’s setbacks and challenges and find ways to bounce back and to thrive. Those with more resilience tend to be better able to adapt to adversity without lasting difficulties. In today’s fast paced, ever changing environment, it is of great importance to equip our children with the skills and strengths to cope with life and recover from hardships. Developing resilience in children can provide them with the tools they need to respond to the challenges of adolescence and to navigate successfully in adulthood.

Outcomes

This workshop was designed to provide insight into the importance of developing emotional resilience in children, characteristics shared by emotionally resilient people and practical suggestions that can assist the development of emotional resilience in children of all ages.
