The Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scales have undergone various adaptations over the years. The latest version, the WAIS-IV is currently being stardardised for the South African population. In preparing ourselves for the publication of the SA norms, this workshop will be looking at significant changes that were made. We will also take a brief overview of the history of cognitive assessments. In focusing on the interpretation of the instrument, we will be using two case studies. Delegates will have the opportunity to apply their own knowledge and skills when interpreting the profiles of the two cases. Interpretation guidelines will be provided and handouts will help to facilitate the process.
This workshop will provide insight into the structure of the WAIS-IV, what it measures, and how to interpret the scores.
