This 1 day workshop is aimed at practitioners/middle managers/supervisors who are requested to chair disciplinary hearings. Delegates will learn how to chair a disciplinary hearing professionally, effectively and fairly.
Principles of discipline will be discussed, as led by the facilitator who has practical experience in the field
The role of the chairman is explained, as well as the roles of all other parties to the disciplinary hearing.
Rights of the defendant are discussed and templates are used for back at work application, where real life actual case studies are used to assist in determining guilty/non guilty determinations, and appropriate penalty decisions
Delegates will have a clear understanding of the total process and timing requirements, from setting the charges to final decisions and appeal process. Local disciplinary procedures will be discussed between delegates.
Some key communication skills are discussed to assist delegates to apply the process with maximum effect in order to minimize appeals being successfully awarded to a party where guilt has been determined
Time is also allocated during the day to discuss the importance and ways of disciplinary prevention and incident minimization in a Company
